On-Lot Disposal System

What is the On-Lot Disposal System (O.L.D.S.)? No, it doesn’t stand for the Oldsmobile automobile. The acronym stands for On-Lot Disposal System, a.k.a your septic system. Based upon the Ordinance that was approved in 1998 you were assigned to have your system pumped during a specific year and then every three years after that. However, the sale and settlement of many homes, replacement of drain fields and just plain repairs to your septic tank sometimes led to systems ‘needing’ to be pumped shortly after the most recent pumping that didn’t make sense and was costly for you, the resident.

The Board of Supervisors approved a new O.L.D.S. program that gives us the ability to track the O.L.D.S. pumping records for your particular property. Approximately 2-3 months before your next pumping is due we will be sending you a reminder notice of when you need to have your system cleaned. This new system accomplishes a number of things including: (1) saving you money, (2) increasing our efficiency in monitoring system maintenance, and (3) reducing our costs to provide this service to you.
