Tina Cassel Hastie

Tina Hastie

Tina Cassel Hastie lives in the township with her husband, Robert.  She was born and raised in neighboring South Hanover township and graduated from Lower Dauphin SD.  She moved to East Hanover Township in 1997 to the small farm she currently owns.  She is a graduate of Bloomsburg University with a BS in Elementary Education and a MS in Teacher of the Deaf & Hard of Hearing.  She obtained a MS from Millersville University in Special Education.  She taught special education at Cumberland Valley SD for 19 years and for the last 6 years has been an itinerant Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing at Capital Area Intermediate Unit in Enola.  She has been a licensed thoroughbred trainer for 32 years at Penn National Racetrack and a part-time employee at Hanoverdale Agway for 37 years.  She is active in the community through her church, St. John’s United Methodist in Grantville, and a volunteer and board member for PAWS of PA located in Grantville.  Being born and raised on a farm she was drawn to the rural countryside & farmland of East Hanover and hopes to work to preserve the rural character of the community.
