Planning Commission
About Us
All subdivision and land development plans must be submitted to the Planning Commission for review and recommendation prior to review and action by the Board of Supervisors. The primary purpose of the review is to ascertain whether or not all requirements of the zoning and subdivision/land development ordinances have been met. The Planning Commission considers the reviews and recommendations of the Township Consulting Engineer, Township Zoning Officer, Tri-County Planning Commission, and Dauphin County Soil Conservation District. The Commission will also determine whether or not the subdivision or land development plan is in conformance with the goals and objectives stated in the EHT Comprehensive Plan. After review, the Commission will recommend an action to the Board of Supervisors. All plans need approval from the Supervisors prior to being recorded at the Dauphin County Courthouse. Five residents are appointed to the Planning Commission by the Supervisors for four year terms. Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of most months (except when changed due to holidays, etc.) beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building. All meetings are open to the public.
